Ralph Upton and his wife Carol moved to the Rhondda Valley in October 2002 and set
up the Church Army Valley of Hope project working with ex offenders and substance
misusers. The project was very successful but the funding was withdrawn as part
of the government cut backs in September 2014.
Valleys of Hope was set up to help the homeless and those in need in the United Kingdom
and also to help those in prison and in need in Ethiopia.
Ralph and Carol have now moved to Southport.
In Ethiopia we work with Friendship Support Association working with nomads, as well
as three other partners. Further information can be found on our page giving the
history of our work in Ethiopia.
We are now working with Friends of God Church in Kampala. In April 2023 Ralph spent
ten days there on Mission. More information about the time spent there and work done
can be found here.
We work with all people regardless of religion, no religion, race or sexual orientation.
